Christina Engen, Ph.D., ABPP has been practicing with Behavioral Consultants, Inc. (BCI) and the Wisconsin Forensic Unit (WFU) since 2011, when she obtained licensure in the State of Wisconsin. She specializes in the following types of forensic examination:

During this time, she trained on civil, forensic, and correctional units, with both adolescents and adults. Primary foci included violence risk assessment, and treating and evaluating patients admitted to the hospital for the purpose of competency restoration. Dr. Engen’s training culminated in a postdoctoral forensic psychology fellowship with WFU, where she received advanced training performing a wide variety of forensic mental health evaluations of adults and juveniles. For a time, she also treated defendants to competency through the Outpatient Competency Restoration Program. In addition to clinical training, she participated in the forensic psychiatry fellowship seminars of the Medical College of Wisconsin.

In 2017, Dr. Engen became board certified in the specialty area of forensic psychology by the American Board of Forensic Psychology. Board Certification in Forensic Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is one of only two post-doctoral specialty certifications recognized in the American Psychological Association Directory.  ABPP has a rigorous standard for credential and practice sample review, which culminates with a three-hour oral examination by three ABFP board-certified forensic psychologists in two primary areas of forensic practice as exemplified by the practice samples.  She is one of nine psychologists state wide, and one of 310 psychologists nationally to hold this certification.
